Texas is very different than other places that I lived in (São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Massachusetts and Illinois). One thing that caught my attention is that they have some cities with weird names...like Gun Barrel City, Ding Dong and many more. So, I thought that might be fun to draw my own interpretations... Here's my sketch for Ding Dong, TX.  The first of what might become a series.

O Texas é muito diferente de outros lugares aonde eu morei, como SãoPaulo, Rio de Janeiro, Massachusetts ou Illinois . Recentemente, eu notei que várias cidades tem nomes exquisitos como Ding Dong (Nome de um bolinho de chocolate americano) ou Gun Barrel City  (Barril do Revólver) entre outras. Isso me fez pensar que talvez fosse interessante criar a minha própria interpretação através das minhas ilustrações. Aqui está o meu rascunho para a cidade de Ding Dong, TX. Talvez, a primeira ilustração de uma série.

Over the past few monts, I had the pleasure to work with the Georgetown Heritage Society on several projects having to do with the upcoming "Holiday Home Tour" in Historic Georgetown. My favorite was designing this commemorative poster, which was inspired by the renowed artist and designer William Morris. A series of 100  has been printed that have been numbered and signed by the artist (me!). The posters are being sold for $15 a piece, as a fundraiser for the Georgetown Heritage Society.

 Nos últimos meses, eu tive o prazer de colaborar com a Georgetown Heritage Society em vários projetos relacionados ao "Holiday Home Tour" na parte histórica da cidade de Georgetown. A minha parte favorita do projeto foi criar este poster, que foi inspirado peli trabalho do artista e designer William Morris. Uma série de 100 serigrafias foram imprimidas e assinadas pelo artista (Eu!). Os posters estão á venda por $15 através da Georgetown Heritage Society.

Kalamazoo is definetly a fun word to say! I don't know much about Kalamazoo, but it's in Michigan. It's also the home of Kalamazoo College. How did I end up on the covers of LuxEsto, the publication geared towards Kalamazoo College Alumni? Well, they did a feature on the people behind the Tangerine Arts Group in Chicago, who just happen to be alumns. Having created the art for two of their productions (Tangerine Family Circus and The Tempest), they asked me for permission to re-use one of my favorite illustrations. But, I won't let all of this Kalamazoo fame go to my head...

Kalamazoo é uma palavra divertida!  Eu nãoo sei muito sobre Kalamazoo, mas se encontra no estado de Michigan nos Estados Unidos. O Kalamazoo College (Faculdade) também fica lá. Como é que o meu trabalho foi parar na capa da revista LuxEsto? Bom, eles escreveram um artigo sobre o pessoal do Tangerine Arts Group, que por acaso são ex-alunos do Kalamazoo College. Como eu criei a arte para duas das suas peças, eles pediram permissão para usar uma das minhas ilustrações favoritas. Prometo não deixar toda essa fama em Kalamazoo me subir á cabeça.
