Well, my debut at the Red Poppy Festival can be considered a success. We had great weather, after a night of heavy storms and even tornadoes. Got to see a lot of the friends, local folks and meet some new people. The response to the art was positive and the "Rare Birds" were a hit. The best part was seeing the reactions of the kids to the birds... Their imagination is great. I would ask them what kind of birds they were and they told me things like a peacock or a parrot, because of all the colors.

It's a lot of work to get ready for this things, but it was totally worth it and look forward to doing more of these kind of shows. I plan to start a emailing list to let everyone know of any future events.

Bom, a minha estréia no Red Poppy Festival pode ser considerada como um sucesso. Um pelo dia, após uma noite de chuvas pesadas e furacões na nossa região. Eu pude ver alguns amigos, o pessoal de Georgetown e fazer novos contatos. Os meus "Pássaros Raros" fizeram bastante sucesso. A melhor parte foi ver a reação das crianças em relação aos pássarinhos. A imaginação deles é maravilhosa. Eu perguntei á eles que tipo de pássaros era aqueles e recebi respostas como pavão e papagaio, pelo fato de serem tão coloridos.

A preparação para essas feiras é bastante trabalho, mas acho qeu valeu a pena e planejo continuar participando deste tipo de shows. Eu planejo começar uma lista de emails e avisar todo mundo (que estejem interessados) de futuras participações.

This weekend marks my first art fair and I'm excited. It's one of those thing that I have been meaning to do for a very long time. I'll be having some paintings and a limited edition prints of these crazy and rare birds. Enjoy!
