I tend to write a lot about myself and my work. Sometimes, I am not sure if anyone actually reads the blog, but I think that it's a great outlet to get things out in the universe. Recently, I have been getting into listening to podcasts and came across the CraftSanity podcast on Itunes. The host is Jennifer Ackerman-Haywood, from Grand Rapids, MI. Something about it got me hooked. I do crafts, but I guess that I am more of an artist. Jennifer is pretty quirky ( a plus on my opinion... the world needs more interesting people) and does triple duty as a mom, reporter for a local paper and the host of Craft Sanity.  She's personal, interesting and has great guests. Not only the stories are great, but what these people are doing is great. I love the creativity and find it inspiring, even though I don't knit or crochet!

I sent Jennifer a couple of prints as a thank you for all of her hard work and she was very kind to post it on her blog.

So thanks, Jennifer! It was very sweet of you...

So, I would like to suggest that you check out her podcast and find out what she's all about... I think that she'll make smile and give you lots of great ideas

Normalmente, eu escrevo sobre mim ou sobre o meu trabalho. As vezes, eu não sei se alguém lê o que eu escrevo nesse blog, mas acho que é um bom exercício poder escrever e colocar essas idéias pelo mundo afora. Ultimamente, eu ando ouvindo podcasts e descobri um chamado CraftSanity, Criado pela Jennifer Ackerman-Haywood de Grand Rapids, Michigan. Não sei exatamente o porque, mas fiquei meio vicíado. Eu faço um pouco de artesanato, mas acho que sou mais artista do que artesão. A jennifer é interessante, talvez um pouco maluquinha (mas no bom sentido)... Além de  ser mãe, ela é uma jornalista e a criadora do CraftSanity. Ela é super interessante e sempre tem ótimos convidados. Não só as histórias que são boas, mas os trabalhos desses indivíduos. Eu adoro a criatividade e o bate papo me inspira, mesmo que eu não saiba tricotar.

Eu mandei duas gravuras para a Jennifer para agraddecer pelo seu ótimo trabalho e ela acabou escrevendo sobre as gravuras no blog dela. E por isso, eu gostaria de agradecer ela... muito doce por parte dela.

Eu gostaria de sugerir que você ouça o podcast dela e tire as suas próprias conclusões... Eu acho que ela te fará rir edar ótimas idéias.

Well.... Here's the final product for the sketch that I just posted a couple of days ago... It's the art for the post card for my upcoming show at 8th Street Studios in Georgetown.

Bem, aqui está a arte final do rascunho que eu coloquei no blog antes de ontem... Essa vai ser a arte que eu vou usar para promover a minha exibição no 8th Street Studios em Georgetown.

Life is pretty busy right now and I have an art show coming up at the 8th Street Studios in Georgetown. I am pretty excited and it should be fun. This sketch is what I am going to use for the promotional materials...I am actually will use the finished art. The working title for the show is "Sink or Swim".

Ando super ocupado ultimamente e vou ter uma exposição na galeria do 8th Street Studios in Georgetown. Estou bem animado e acho que vai ser divertido. Este é o rascunho para a arte que vou usar no cartão postal da exposição. O título do show é "Sink or Swim"... Em português não faz tanto sentido. "  Afunda ou Nada"... Derepente deveria arranjar um título melhor.

In my opinion, the Georgetown Animal Shelter does some great work... and much needed work. As a pet lover/owner, I was happy to collaborate with them and to come up with something fun and original for their logo.  The event is Art For Animals, a chocolate affair, as well as an auction of artwork created by the shelter animals, as well as local artists.

 

Na minha opinião, a Sociedade Protetora de Animais de Georgetown faz um ótimo trabalho, além do que muito necessário. Como dono e fã de animais domésticos, fiquei feliz de colaborar com eles e criar algo original para o logotipo do leilão que será realizado em Outubro. O evento se chama "Art For Animals", aonde eles servem chocolates e sobremesas e leiloam arte criado pelos próprios animais e artistas locais.

I love when a project comes out great... but I love even more when I learn something new during a project. And that has been my experience with Citizen Reindeer. I even like the sketches that did not quite make it. Here's a couple that I would like to share.

 

Eu adoro quando um projeto sai ótimo... mas eu adoro mais ainda quando eu aprendo algo de novo durante um projeto. E essa tem sido a minha experiência com a Citizen Reindeer. Eu até gosto dos rascunhos que foram rejeitados. Aui tem dois que gostaria de compartilhar com vocês.
