The Georgetown Public Library hired me to create a series of 5 banners that celebrated the Holiday Season, but that also promoted the library. There's not text on these banners for the exception of the titles on each characters book.

The Holidays are wonderful times, but it can be stressful and crazy at times All the characters are reading self-help books, because like every one else, they need a little help and support to survive the holiday season.

Natal deveria sempre ser tão divertido como estes banners. A biblioteca de Georgetown me contratoy para criar uma série de 5 banners para comemorar as festas de fim de ano, mas ao mesmo tempo também temos que promover a biblioteca. Não há texto nestes banners com a excessão dos títulos dos livros que os personagens estão lendo.

As festas do fim de anos são muito especiais, mas as obrigações e expectativas as vezes deixa a gente estressado. Então eu tive a idéia de que os personagens estariam lendo livros que vão ajudar eles sobreviver as lucuras do fim do ano.

Holiday Home Tour 2009

It's always a challenge to create artwork for an event for several years on a row. How exactly to retain the continuity of the event, but still insert something fresh in order to keep the viewers interest. The theme for this year's Holiday Home Tour is Arts & Crafts Homes and that's what I tried to convey with the design of this poster. The final size of the poster is 6" x 18", which creates a more unique format. For more information on the tour, please visit the Georgetown Heritage Society website.

É sempre um desafio ter que criar arte para um evento ano após ano, pois você tem que manter a identidade do evento, mas fazer parecer algo novo e diferente. O tema para o passeio natalino de casas históricas é o movimento de arquitetura conhecido como "Arts & Crafts". Eu tentei mostrar isso com o estilo de ilustração e uso de tipografia no poster. O tamanho do poster é 6 polegadas por 18 polegadas, o que é um formato diferente fos posters mais tradicionais. Para mais informações sobre o passeio, visite o site da Georgetown Heritage Society.

Making Dog Cupcakes

I love making things by hand and for me, that's a big part of being an artist... so, I have taken a Quilting class, a basket weaving class as well as a cake decorating class... this past weekend, I volunteered to do some baking for the ART FOR ANIMALS 2009, an art auction and chocolate affair that benefits the Georgetown Animal Shelter... so here's my little westies cupcakes. No, I did not come up with this idea on my own. The recipe came from the Hello CupCake book... Lots of interesting recipes.

Happy Trails is still going on throught mid-november.... Georgetown Art Works first public art project has received very positive response from the general public as well as out of town visitors. For this event, I created a retro looking postcard...Inside each letter, you have images from different banners of different artists that are participating in the projet. From Left to right: Dan Zinno, Rita Kirkman, Djuliana Ewing, Daphne Holland, Elaine Lanoue, Carol Watson, Sue Nosler Gray, Ruby Pecot, Judy Ommen, Lowana Carter and Eric Verret.

Happy Trails continua até o meio do mês de Novembro... Este é o primeiro proeto de Arte Pública organizado pelo Georgetown Artworks and tem sido super bem recebido pelo público. Para esse evento, eu criei um Cartão Postal bem retro... Dentro de cada letra, você tem imagens de banners diferentes criadas por vários artistas. Oi Gente! O projeto de arte pública que eu organizei finalmente está aqui! Esta é a arte final da minha banner, apenas uma entre 55 artistas diferentes. O título é "Cantando comigo". O mapa da Happy Trail estará á disposicão no Museu do Williamson County, A Biblioteca de Georgetown e o Centro de Turismo de Georgetown. Acompanha a "Happy Trail" e vote para a sua banner favorita.

In the month of October, there's going to be so much art in Georgetown, that the residents just won't know what hit them over the head... Happy Trails is a public art project involving over 50 artists... Every artist will be designing their very own banners... The theme is based on the Roy Rogers song, but artists can feel free to have their very own interpretation... This is the sketch for my banner.... entitled Sing Along... The banners will be located throughout the historic square in Georgetown, as well as Georgetown Public Library... It goes up by the end of September and it should last through mid-november. Art Hop 2009

Georgetown Artworks is a great local arts non-profit organization that I am proud to be part of... Still a fairly young organization, but they have 2 great events coming up this fall. This is the poster for the Art Hop, a juried art exhibit that will run from October 2nd through October 29th, 2009. The artworks will be distributed throughout 4 different locations in Georgetown (Library, Framers Gallery, Dog Eared Books and Cianfranni's). Make sure to come out and support the local arts.

Georgetown Artworks é uma organização que promove as artes na cidade de Georgetown. Eu tenho um grande orgulho de fazer parte desta organização. Eles tem dois grandes eventos se realizando neste outono. Este é o poster para o Art Hop, uma exposição de artes plásticas, que será realizada no mês de Outubro. Os trabalhos de arte serão distribuídos em vários locais da cidade ( A biblioteca, o Framers Gallery, a Dog Eared Books e no Cianfrannis). Não se esqueça de ir á exposição e apoiar as artes.

Raye's Bakeshop

Okay... I have to say that this is my yummiest client. Please don't take me wrong, but eating cookies for research has to be one of the quirkiest benefits of my job. Raye's cookies are delicious and they taste so fresh. Raye loves flowers... whimsical flowers... so the final product is a fun logo that simulates a doilies that might be used to adorn a plate when you are serving a cake or cookies, but it also represents a flower. So, if you have any birthday parties, weddings and events that you need to add some deliciousness to it... Give Raye's Bakeshop a call.

Bom... Eu tenho que dizer que este é a minha cliente mais deliciosa. Por favor, não me leve a mal, mas ter que comer biscoitos como parte da pesquisa de um projeto, tem que ser uma das melhores vantagens do meu trabalho. Os biscoitos da Raye são deliciosos. Ela adora flores, portanto criamos um logotipo que tem aparência de uma florzinha divertida, mas que também é um doilie (esqueci a palavra em português, mas é aquela folhinha de papel decorativa que colocamos debaixo de bolos e biscoitos quando servimos nas festas). Se você for dar uma festa, um casório ou qualquer outro evento e precisa de algo bem gostoso para servir, dê uma ligadinha para a Ray.

TACVB 2009 - Winner

City of Georgetown, TX Ad by Graphismo ©2009This past week, the Texas Association of Convention and Visitor's Bureau (TACVB) held it's annual conference in Waco, Texas. As part of the convention, they have a competition for programs and materials created over the past year to promote tourism for different cities across Texas.

The cities are separated into three groups according to their budgets, and awards are given in 9 different categories. The City of Georgetown made a clean sweep, taking first place in the 7 categories that it entered. For the exception of Web Design and Video, Graphismo created was responsible for the creative behind the Advertising, Green Marketing, Tourism Promotion, Convention Promotion and Cooperative Marketing categories.

We are proud to share such honors with the City of Georgetown! Thanks!

Durante a última semana, a Associação de Turismo e Convenções do Estado do Texas (TACVB) realizou a sua conferência anual em Waco. Como parte da conferência, tem uma competição para os programas e materiais criados durante o último ano para promover turismo nas didades do estado do Texas.

As cidades são separadas em 3 grupos diferentes de acordo com as suas verbas e reccebem prêmios em 9 categorias diferentes. A cidade de Georgetown entrou 7 das 9 categorias, e recebeu o primeiro lugar em todas elas. Com excessão da Website e do Video, a Graphismo foi responsável pela criatividade e design nas categorias de Publicidade, Promoção de Turismo, Promoção de Convenções, Campanha Verde e Publicidade Cooperativa.

Nós temos um grande orgulho de compartilhar esses prêmios com a Cidade de Georgetown! Obrigado!
